Florida Grand Opera’s 75th Season Preview
In celebration of FGO’s 75th continuous year of bringing the finest opera to South Florida, a season has been designed with something for everyone. Each of the operas will resonate with a variety of communities. The season will feature the traditional period productions and begin with an audience favorite, “Carmen” (Dec. 1 & Dec. 3, 2016). Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” (Feb. 9 & Feb. 11, 2017), presents a tale of universal human truths, and returns to the Broward Center’s stages after a 17-year absence. Culminating the 2016–2017 season will be Stephen Sondheim’s “Sweeney Todd” (May 11 & May 13, 2017) which is designed to welcome the Broadway audience to a production which no one should miss. There are two kinds of people: those who love opera and those who don’t yet know they do! Learn more >
